Persona and Scenarios: A ridesharing app: Xcab




The concept of the project will be to design a mobile application that will provide peer to peer ride-sharing, ride service healing, bicycle-sharing system, ride-sharing with multiple people, car bookings for tours, truck bookings, and food delivery services. The potential name of this app is "Xcab". Xcab mobile app, which you can use to submit a trip request that is automatically sent to an Xcab driver near to you, alerting the driver to your location. It automatically finds your location and logs GPS data. When a driver accepts your trip, you'll see their name, license plate, photo, rating, and a temporary substitute telephone number. You'll be able to follow your Xcab driver on the built-in map until they arrive with you and when on a trip, you can follow your trip in real-time and share with your friends. The accepting Xcab driver will then come and pick you up and drive you to your requested destination. The Xcab app automatically figures out the navigational route for the driver, calculates the distance and fare, and transfers the payment to the driver from your selected payment method, without you having to say a word or grab your wallet. This process also as same as other services in this app such as truck booking etc.

Target user population:

The target user population will comprise of

  • people who currently use ridesharing apps, like Uber, Lyft, etc.
  • people who looking for a safe way to transport their furniture or other kinds of stuff using trucks.
  • people who looking for a car rental system for short tours.
  • people who are looking for ways to the bicycle-sharing system. Which will be billed every hour.
  • people who looking for ride-sharing with multiple people.

Competitive Landscape:

Recently the ride-sharing app is very popular. Different countries have different types of ride-sharing apps. In Asia "Didi", "Grab", "Gojek", "Ola" is very popular. In Europe "BlaBlaCar", "Gett", "Bolt", etc is very popular. In the world wide "Uber" and "Lyft" is the extremely popular and signature app of ride-sharing. All the ride-sharing systems are focused on peep to peer ride-sharing, ride-hailing, and food delivery. But there are no complete facilities apps in the market that allow people to safe truck booked sharing system, rent a car-sharing for short tours or a few hours, complete and secure bicycle sharing system, ride-sharing with multiple peoples, etc. Xcab will be a complete ride-sharing app.
